Engine Seal Driver Kit, Duramax | 2001-2026
Installing the front and rear main seals on a Duramax takes the right tools. Without them, a seal can go in misaligned and start leaking again. The Merchant Automotive Engine Seal Driver Kit includes a front main seal driver and a rear main seal driver for 2001-2026 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks with the 6.6L Duramax diesel (LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM, LML and L5P) and 2006-2016 Chevy Express and GMC Savana vans with the 6.6L Duramax (LLY, LMM and LGH). Each driver fits over the seal so you can tap it into place with a rubber mallet, and a lip on the driver sets the seal at the correct depth.
A main seal that is installed crooked or at the wrong depth may not seal against the crankshaft and can leak. The drivers press the seal in evenly, and the lip stops the seal at the correct depth, which helps you get it right the first time.
