Intercooler Coolant Heat Exchanger for GM LM2/LZ0 The GM 3.0L Duramax utilizes an air-to-liquid intercooler to keep its intake air cool. However, the stock intercooler’s performance is largely dependent on the efficiency of the front-mounted coolant heat exchanger. This heat exchanger absorbs heat from the intercooler coolant and dissipates it to the ambient air. If the heat exchanger becomes heat saturated, it will greatly impact the efficiency of the intercooler, and affect engine performance. Heat saturation can result from prolonged high-load operations such as towing, or extreme ambient temperatures. PPE overcomes the heat saturation issue with our High-Efficiency Intercooler Coolant Heat Exchanger.
