Fuel Filter Head Rebuild Kit, Duramax | 2001-2010 — 10192
The Merchant Automotive Fuel Filter Head Rebuild Kit includes the seals needed to rebuild a leaking fuel filter head on 2001-2010 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks with the 6.6L Duramax diesel (LB7, LLY, LBZ and LMM), and on Topkick and Kodiak medium duty trucks with the Duramax. The fuel filter head is on the passenger side of the engine on pickup trucks and on the driver side on medium duty models like the Topkick and Kodiak.
Besides holding the fuel filter, the filter head acts as the primer for the supply side of the fuel system, since an external lift pump is not standard from the factory. It also houses the fuel heater for cold weather operation.
