Fuel Filter Combo Kit, Duramax | 2001-2016
The Merchant Automotive Fuel Filter Combo Kit puts a fuel filter service and two common upgrades in one box for the 2001-2016 6.6L Duramax LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM and LML. You get a new ACDelco TP3018 fuel filter, our aluminum fuel filter head bleeder screw and our water-in-fuel (WIF) delete plug. The factory bleeder screw and WIF sensor are plastic and can crack with age and repeated service, which lets air into the fuel system and causes hard starts, stalling and other drivability problems. Replacing both while the filter is changed fixes that for good.
A cracked plastic bleeder screw or WIF sensor is an easy-to-miss source of air in the fuel system. Upgrading both to durable parts at the same time as the filter means the next filter change starts with parts that won't crack. The WIF plug is serviceable with a 3/8" drive ratchet or our WIF wrench.
