Head Gasket, Grade C, Right (Passenger), Duramax | 2001-2016
This Grade C multi-layer steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket fits the right (passenger) side of 2001-2016 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500 trucks with the 6.6L Duramax diesel (LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM and LML) and 2006-2016 Chevy Express and GMC Savana vans with the 6.6L Duramax (LLY, LMM and LGH). It replaces GM 12637788, which superseded 98045057. GM offers the Duramax head gasket in three thicknesses, Grade A, B and C, chosen by piston protrusion. Grade C is the thickest at 1.05 mm compressed, and it's the common choice for rebuilds and for heads or blocks that have been resurfaced.
Replace the head gasket any time the cylinder head is removed, after a head gasket failure, or during an engine rebuild. Head gaskets should not be reused.

- Right side only: the left and right gaskets are not interchangeable. For the driver side, order the Grade C Left Head Gasket .
- Machining limits: if total machining exceeds .008" or the cylinders are bored more than .040" over, measure piston protrusion and piston-to-head clearance before final assembly.
