Deluxe Glow Plug Replacement Kit, Duramax | 2004.5 - 2005
Glow plug removal can seem straightforward, but if the incorrect tools are used, the chances of breaking off a glow plug or damaging the cylinder head are greatly increased. The Merchant Automotive Deluxe Glow Plug Replacement Kit puts a full set of OEM ACDelco 63G glow plugs and new terminal nuts together with the removal tools we use in house at Merchant Automotive. It fits 2004.5-2005 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks with the 6.6L Duramax LLY.
Worn or failed glow plugs can cause hard starts in cold weather and can set check engine lights. Glow plug faults for individual cylinders set codes P0671 through P0678 (cylinders 1 through 8). Owners on the DuramaxDiesels forum recommend replacing all of them, or at least the whole side, while you are in there.
