Lower Valve Cover Gasket, LB7 Duramax | 2001-2004
This lower valve cover gasket is for the 6.6L Duramax LB7 and replaces GM 97188896. It seals the lower valve cover to the cylinder head. On the LB7 the lower cover comes off for injector work, so this gasket gets disturbed every time the injectors are replaced. An old, hardened gasket is a common source of oil seepage down the side of the engine.
Since the lower valve covers come off for LB7 injector replacement, a new gasket on each side lets the covers go back on dry instead of chasing an oil leak after the job. Replace if worn or damaged.
