Upper Valve Cover Bolt Kit, LB7 Duramax | 2001-2004 — 10196
This kit replaces damaged or stripped upper valve cover bolts on the 6.6L Duramax LB7. Each kit has 11 bolts, enough to service one upper valve cover. On the LB7 the upper covers come off for injector and valve train work, and after a few removals the original bolts are often rounded, corroded or stripped. A fresh set lets the cover go back on with even clamping and no bad bolts.
A stripped or rounded bolt can keep the upper valve cover from sealing evenly, which leads to oil seepage at the gasket. Replacing the whole set on that side at once means every bolt torques the same. Replace if worn or damaged.
