This pack of 14 upper valve cover bolt grommets services one bank (one side) of a 2004.5–2016 LLY, LBZ, LMM or LML 6.6L Duramax in Silverado and Sierra 2500HD/3500HD trucks, as well as LLY, LMM and LGH Express and Savana vans. Each upper valve cover bolt uses one grommet to seal the bolt and isolate the cover from engine noise and vibration. The upper valve covers come off for injector work, glow plug access on some jobs and valve cover resealing, and after years of heat the rubber grommets harden and flatten. Reused grommets are a common source of oil seeps around the valve cover bolts. A fresh set seals the cover properly when it goes back on.
